This terpene is quite common and may be found predominantly in the essential oils of pine-like plants, especially in cypresses and junipers, but also in hemp, oregano, and marjoram.

Cedrol has antimicrobial, antiseptic, soothing, and expectorant properties and is particularly effective against colds.
